In this first of two projects Peston looks at how, thirty years back, earth shattering choices were taken which molded the world we live in today. In China, Deng Xiao Ping opened up the nation to outside industrialists; in Britain and America, the free market insurgency was unleashed by Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan. The Party's Over analyzes the lives of laborers in a Chinese organization with their colleagues in Britain.
